RESTRICTIONS EXEMPTION PROGRAM

In the interest of keeping you safe and keeping the doors of BDS open, we will be implementing the Restrictions Exemption Program as outlined by AHS as of September 20, 2021 for all group classes.

 

  • Face masks are required in all indoor public spaces

  • Individuals who have COVID-19 symptoms must isolate

  • All attendees must show valid proof of vaccination OR proof of medical exemption as outlined below AND must produce valid personal identification


What is valid proof of vaccination?

  • Alberta vaccine record with QR Code (paper or digital) is now the only valid Alberta-issued proof of vaccination accepted by operators participating in REP.

  • Other provincial vaccine records with QR Codes

  • First Nation vaccine records

  • Canadian Armed Forced vaccine records with QR Codes

  • U.S. Military proof of vaccination and ID card

  • Out of country vaccine records


What if I have only had one dose?

Up to October 25, at least one dose is required at least 14 days prior. On October 25 and after, two doses of a two-dose series are required, with the second at least 14 days prior.

 

What if I have medical exemption?

You will need to provide the original (uncopied) letter of medical exemption as outlined below:

  • A valid medical exemption is the original signed letter from a physician or nurse practitioner that includes:

  • The name of the person in the written documentation that matches the identification provided.

  • The physician’s or nurse practitioner’s information is complete by including:

  • Name, phone number, contact information, professional registration number, and signature of the physician or nurse practitioner;

  • Statement that there is a medical reason for the individual’s exemption from being fully vaccinated against COVID-19; and

  • The duration that the exemption is valid.


Will I need to show ID?

Yes, individuals who 18 years of age or older must also present personal ID but photo ID is not required. Some examples are:

  • Birth certificate

  • Citizenship card,

  • Driver’s license,

  • Government (Alberta or other) issued identification card, including

  • health card,

  • Metis card, Treaty card, Inuit Status card, or

  • Passport, or

  • Permanent Resident card.


Please note: if you are unable to show valid proof of vaccination or medical exemption, you will not be permitted to participate in group classes or rent the indoor facility.

 

The outdoor facilities are not affected at this time, but please practice social distancing and be respectful of other attendees before and after you.
